We are currently working on #AppScooter, our first product, to demonstrate that city mobility can be clean, and deeply integrated with technologies that connect us. Since we are growing fast, we’re now looking for a Mobile Android Developer.
As our Mobile Android Developer, you will be responsible for building the foundation of our AppScooter’s accompanying mobile phone app(s), including novel features like remotely (un)locking your scooter, planning trips that sync with the #AppScooter's navigation app, and scooter diagnostics. Also, you will be involved in the development of the #AppScooter's user interface itself as well.
We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Software Engineering team. You will play a central role in coming up with innovative solutions to software challenges and will have the opportunity to be involved with a broad range of software languages and devices.

We use the latest tools and libraries in the Android world (for example: Architecture Components, Coroutines, Koin etc);

We emphasize writing unit tests and having peer code reviews;
You have the opportunity to dig into Android Framework and learn how to customize Android OS (customise system services, bluetooth stack and profiles);
What you'll focus your time on after joining us:
Architect, engineer, test and launch software for the AppScooter Android based platform as well as future Etergo product programs;
Work together with software engineers, and UX & UI designers to build the foundation of AppScooter’s companion app(s) and future Etergo apps;
Build the turn-by-turn navigation solutions for the AppScooter's user interface;
Develop solutions to remotely communicate with a smartphone that is connected with the AppScooter (make and receive calls/messages over Bluetooth, stream/control music over Bluetooth);
Build the companion smartphone apps to configure the AppScooter, pre-plan trips and more;
Apply Agile techniques to deliver high quality software and technical excellence.
What you'll bring along for our journey together:
Proficiency in the latest standards of Android and Java coding tools;
A minimum of 4 years experience as an Android Developer or a similar role;
A portfolio or work samples demonstrating experience creating great apps and code that elegantly solves technical challenges across different domains;
Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex architectures clearly across different audiences and levels of the organization;
Strong understanding and proven use of coding best practices, processes and methodologies;
Experience working in a cross-functional Scrum teams.
Will be considered a plus:
Experience with iOS app development;
Experience working with Kotlin;
Experience with Android on IoT and/or automotive applications;
Experience with Android internals.
