Job description

We are Etergo. We're on a mission to accelerate the global transition towards sustainable energy and transportation by creating a safe, scalable and environmentally friendly alternative to petrol and diesel vehicles. Founded in 2014, we have grown our company with over 70 agile thinkers, building high-end electric transportation. We are currently working on #AppScooter, our first product, to demonstrate that city mobility can be clean, and deeply integrated with technologies that connect us.

As we are growing fast, we now we're looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team in Amsterdam.

What you will work on:

  • Develop and review of electrical designs with relation to schematics, lead PCB layouts, and thermal design;
  • Develop system-level requirements and component-level specifications;
  • Collaborate with other engineers and teams to achieve integrated and optimized system designs;
  • Communicate with suppliers for manufacturing feasibility, validation, and other engineering related activities;
  • Create component and subsystem design verification plans and test methods (with component/system supplier);
  • Carry out component and system validation while ensuring system targets are met and optimized;
  • Support prototype builds as well as volume production startup;
  • Work on high volume PCB assembly design, validation, and compliance to worldwide safety and EMI standards;

In terms of background and skills, this is the right role for you if you have:

    • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or equivalent;
    • 8+ years of experience in electrical hardware design and development;
    • Experience with multiple full product development cycles from concept to market introduction;
    • Design experience with both analog and digital circuits, and the ability to lead schematic and PCB design; working in Altium designer;
    • C programming for embedded devices (ARM architecture, RTOS);
    • Experience with defining product validation plans;
    • Technical writing and fluency in English.

    Will make you stand out:

    • Embedded hardware design experience for safety-critical automotive applications or a related field;
    • Experience with HALT testing for electrical components;
    • Experience in setting up requirements for embedded software and supporting in hardware bring up;
    • Experience in thermal design for high power circuits including heat rejection design.
