Vehicle Test Engineer

Job description

We are Etergo. Our singular aim is to bring clean transportation to the masses. Founded in 2014, we have grown our company with over 70 agile thinkers, building on high-end electric, two-wheeled transportation with AppScooter; our first product to demonstrate that city mobility can be clean, and deeply integrated with technologies that connect us. As we are growing fast, we are now looking for a Vehicle test engineer to join our team in Amsterdam.

Over the next year, you will take AppScooter (and future products after that) from concept to mass production. You will play a central role in coming up with innovative solutions to challenges testing the the AppScooter. You will be gathering and validating data for testing ensuring the reliability and performance of the whole vehicle.

After completing this first mission, there are plenty of opportunities to rotate into other disciplines, initiate second stage products, or take on a leadership role, as our company grows.

As part of our Engineering team, these will be your day-to-day activities:

  • Own the system performance testing at the vehicle level.
  • Participation in the functions definition, taking into consideration the application and intended use for the driver (vehicle performance, drive comfort, response time, drivability etc.)
  • Development of test programs for functional- and robustness testing acc. to product requirements. .
  • Planning, monitoring and execution of internal and external vehicle test plans.
  • Responsible for selecting the testing instrumentation and equipment.
  • Create, execute and manage test documentation (test reports, statistics, key performance indicators)
  • Preparation, communication and discussion of the test results with the engineering project team.
  • Analysis of test results and proposals for design changes to ensure the desired performance of the vehicle.
  • Manage external test center activities

Requirements

This role is a great fit for you if you want to work on an entire vehicle; taking true ownership throughout the full product development cycle. And, if you want to shape the future of green mobility. However, since we are a growing company, it might not be for you if you expect to rely on clear structure, solid processes, and best practices to be already in place. Everything we do here is created from scratch, so initiative and an entrepreneurial mindset are key to success. In terms of background and skills, this is the right role for you if you have:

  • A bachelor in Engineering Degree (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or equivalent)
  • 5years+ experience on vehicle testing methods, techniques and tools.
  • Experience in vehicle-level data capture, analysis and post-processing.
  • Capability to analyze technical problems.
  • Capability to take initiative to solve issues with little or no direction. You are truly a proactive person.
  • Creative on developing testing programs to ensure a robust design.
  • Technical writing skills, in fluent English.

Will make you stand out:

  • Experience with testing two-wheelers.
  • Reliability Engineering certification
  • Design for Six Sigma certification
